Can you believe it? January 2015! For many, it’s the month to resolve to put bad habits behind us and face the new year with a fresh start. Maybe you’ve decided to finally dig out your exercise clothes and hit the gym. But you open the closet and you’re faced with piles of clothes – things you haven’t seen for months. Kitchen? Same thing. When did you buy those sprinkles anyways? Finally you realize that perhaps it’s time to clean out cupboards. Yes, that dreaded ‘I’ll do it later’ time has come.
Once you’ve emptied the cupboards, start 2015 with a new habit. Instead of reaching for your usual anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, streak free, foaming bubbles, try a fresh a new cleaning regiment. Vinegar, baking soda, lemon juice and corn starch are just a few natural ingredients that can be used in place of your commercial cleaners. Would you rather leave a layer of chemicals on your shelves or smell clean recognizable scents?
There are an array of alternative and environmentally friendly cleaning products. A small amount of research can be all you need to make a huge difference in the health of your home and family.
Do you have a simple cleaning solution that has replaced a commercial cleaner?

I use one part vinegar and three parts water to clean windows. No streaks!
Also, after trying practically every bathroom cleaner out there, I found that about a half cup of vinegar, a tsp of dish soap and warm water, does a great job at removing soap scum from glass shower doors.
