Nearly two years into this pandemic, I remain optimistic.
My family is healthy, my son is thriving at school, my business is stable and I’ve been able to make choices that have improved my overall well-being. This year, I expect more of the same.
My secret?
I start with a plan, specifically the Commit30 day planner. For the past few years, I’ve used this wonderful tool to outline goals for the year that help guide my decisions and choices. The planner helps break down these goals on a monthly basis and then adds them to my virtual calendar.
Committing to classes and lists have been essential, and I’ve seen the results. Last year I stayed true to no working on weekends, which has been an essential part of my recharge plan. In 2022, I’m focusing on three areas:
Ways to Grow
Exercise is crucial to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, so I like to try something new in my exercise routine. This year I plan to add Pilates and rowing to my fitness schedule.
With LooHoo, there will be new products (stay tuned!) and gift sets, and I hope to attend new shows outside of Maine.
I’m also on the lookout for business courses. Knowledge fuels my creativity, and it’s always important to discover new ideas to help my business grow and evolve.
Ways to Connect
Since we’re limited in gatherings, it’s important I maintain weekly communication with my parents and siblings. My husband Scott, son Graham and I enjoy weekend excursions, and morning walks with family and friends helps me connect—at a safe distance.
Ways to Recharge
Another big commitment is making time to care for myself. I enjoy reading daily, massages, acupuncture sessions and an occasional puzzle.
I also look forward to time in the kitchen. I typically cook five nights a week, with leftovers the other two nights. Graham and Scott love to help as well and we all know how important it is to have healthy, whole foods. My goals this year is to try two to three new recipes a month.
While I’ve only been sewing for a couple of years, I really enjoy it. Last month I made pillow covers for our couch, and my goal this month is to make a stack of small zippered bags. They’re great for gifts and fun to send as simple gift.
So tell us, what are your goals for 2022?
