LooHoo Wool Dryer Balls - Color Combo Packs

Frequently Asked Questions

LooHoo Wool Dryer Balls

LooHoos are wool dryer balls that you put in your clothes dryer to help lift and separate your clothes. Using several LooHoos creates a constant motion, allowing more air to circulate around your wet laundry so your clothes dry faster. The more dryer balls you use, the less time it takes to dry a load and you can reduce your dry time by 10 - 25%.

LooHoos are ideal for any and all laundry and are an essential asset to help reduce dry time, conserve energy and save you money.

Toss all your LooHoos into your dryer and let them happily roll around with every load of laundry.

It varies based on the size of your load of laundry. For best results, use at least 3 LooHoos for small to medium loads. Use 5 LooHoos medium to large loads and 9 - 12 in large to extra large loads.

We recommend replacing your LooHoos every 1-2 years or add a Refresher Pack every 6 to 12 months but it’s really up to the user to determine when that should happen. Some customers stick with this guideline and others hang on to their LooHoos for longer than 2 years. They will start to wear down and look like an old sweater but are still functional, so it’s really up to you. If they become really dried out or you are no longer seeing all the benefits to using them, then it’s time to replace.

Wool is used because of its incredible properties including the ability to:

- Naturally soften clothes due to friction of the balls against the fabric.
- Make clothes fresher and smell cleaner since wool has the ability to absorb toxins and odors.

At LooHoo Headquarters, we have been using a mixture of colorful and natural LooHoos in our dryer with EVERY load for over 8 years, and I have never had any colors run.

LooHoos come in a beautiful range of non-toxic colors including undyed versions. The colorful wool we use is dyed at a US dyehouse using a low-acid dyeing process which is a very safe process.

Cream and light gray are our undyed options. They are the natural sheep’s wool color. Light gray is a blend of darker and light natural wool.

There is no specific reason behind the variety of colors. It really comes down to personal preference. It’s best to choose whatever color brings you the most joy.

All LooHoos are unscented and no fragrances are added to our wool dryer balls. Visit the section below about essential oils for suggestions on scenting LooHoos at home.

The circumference of a LooHoo is ~10 inches, diameter ~3.5 inches, and they each weigh ~ 2 oz.

The variety pack is a random mix of Colorful and Natural LooHoos.

Having Trouble with Static

Yes! Static occurs when your clothes become overly dry. Here are a few ideas that will help you prevent static.

Tip #1

Even though static is tough to deal with, especially in the winter, there is something you can do.

1. Stop dryer 10-15 minutes before end of the cycle
2. Wet 1-2 LooHoos, and toss it back in the dryer

This helps reduce static since it prevents the air inside the dryer from becoming too dry, which creates more static.

Tip #2

Another idea to help prevent static is to separate lightweight fabrics (underwear, workout clothes) from heavier fabrics (jeans, pants) and dry each group in separate cycles. First dry the lighter clothes, then pull those out and add the heavier clothes to the warmed dryer and start a new dry cycle.

Care Intructions

We hear from many of our customers that their LooHoos ended up getting dirty and needed to be cleaned. This is no problem at all. LooHoos can easily be cleaned in your washer and dryer. Just toss them in the washer on a warm water cycle and dry them in the dryer.

LooHoos are durable and long lasting and can be used in your clothes dryer for a long time. They'll not end up in a landfill like dryer sheets.

LooHoos & Essential Oils

You can place drops of your favorite essential oil on your LooHoos to easily scent your fresh laundry. Just add a few drops and toss the LooHoos into your laundry. In order to infuse the most amount of fragrance, it's best to add the essential oil in the last 5 to 10 minutes of your dry cycle.

Have fun selecting the best oil combination for your laundry. You could try lavender for your sheets and lemon for your towels.

Some of our customers favorite essential oils to use on their LooHoo Wool Dryer Balls include: Lemon, Sandalwood, Lavender, Purification, Purify, Bergamot, Orange, Peace & Calming, Lime, Geranium, and Spearmint.
